A Bit of History & Where to Find It

Since 1937, McMillen Park has been Fort Wayne's go-to community space, thanks to the generosity of Dale W. McMillen. Sprawling across 107 acres at the corner of Hessen Cassel and Oxford Streets, it's easily accessible from nearby neighborhoods like Greater McMillen and Rudisill Plaza.

Feeling like stretching your legs? The park's extensive walking trails wind through natural surroundings, great for a morning jog or an evening stroll. Sports enthusiasts will find multiple basketball courts, tennis courts, and baseball and football fields for various activities.

The park includes the McMillen Golf Course, with an 18-hole, par-65 executive course, a 9-hole short course, and a driving range for golfers of all skill levels. For something a bit different, try your foot at FootGolf - a fun twist that combines soccer and golf into one addictive game.

Kid-Friendly Fun

If you've got little ones in tow, the newly renovated playground is a must-visit. It's fully accessible and inclusive, designed with children aged 2-12 in mind, and packed with opportunities for sliding, climbing, and balance activities that'll keep them entertained for hours.

Nearby, the Born Learning Trail offers an interactive educational experience where kids and caregivers can connect with nature while learning - proving that not all classrooms have four walls.

Indoor Adventures

When the weather isn't cooperating, head to the McMillen Park Community Center, where you'll find indoor basketball and pickleball courts to keep your game going year-round. The center is also home to Fort Wayne's largest indoor playground, the Kid's Korner - a lifesaver on rainy days.

Within the park, you'll discover the historical pavilion, plenty of shaded seating areas, and large open fields excellent for picnics, frisbee games, or just lounging with a good book.
