Positioned on North Centennial Street since 1926, this cozy 3.3-acre green space has been a neighborhood fixture for Indianapolis locals for nearly a century. Small in size but big on charm, Centennial & Groff Park has remained a beloved neighborhood retreat through the decades.

Kid-Friendly Fun

The heart of the park is its recently renovated playground where little ones can climb, slide, and swing to their hearts' content. When summer temperatures rise, the adjacent splash pad offers a cooling retreat, with colorful water sprayers for children to enjoy.

Places to Gather

For family picnics or casual meet-ups, the park's roofed pavilion provides shelter. Complete with picnic tables and benches, it's fantastic for everything from birthday celebrations to afternoon snacks. There's even a grill available if you're feeling like cooking up some outdoor treats.

Practical Stuff

You can find a restroom building that's open during park hours, so no need to cut your visit short. Drinking fountains are also available near the restrooms, though they might be turned off during colder months - plan accordingly!

The park features a generous open field (about 200' × 150') right in the middle - ideal for impromptu games of catch, flying kites, or simply spreading out a blanket to cloud-watch. Around the edges, you'll appreciate the lightly wooded areas offering welcome shade when the summer sun is blazing. While modest in scale, the layout offers a pleasant break from city surroundings.

During summer months, the park shows its community spirit by hosting a free lunch program for youth 18 and under. If you've got hungry kids, these meals are typically served in the late afternoon around 4:30-5:00 PM - a wonderful resource for families in the area.
