About the Location

Natural Retreats

The north section of the park is a verdant green space, ideal for when you just want to chill. Spread out a blanket for a picnic, lose yourself in a good book, or simply soak in some peace under the cooling shade of mature trees.

Pogue's Run Creek meanders nearby, adding a touch of natural beauty to the setting while nourishing the abundant tree canopy that creates such a refreshing escape from the urban hustle.

Recreation Spaces

Dating back to 1937, this 18.8-acre local favorite emerged to serve families who were setting up homes in Indianapolis' suburban areas during the mid-20th century.

You can find a generous field area that's great for impromptu games or just running around, however the grass conditions can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on the time of year.

Sports Venues

At its heart, Forest Manor Park is home to youth baseball, which has created memories for generations of local families. The park proudly hosts the local chapter of Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities, a wonderful initiative backed by Major League Baseball that opens doors to sports opportunities for kids between 5 and 12 years old.

The four baseball fields and spacious practice area accommodate everything from organized league play to casual catch sessions. There's something special about watching little ones round the bases here - it's why many folks make the trip specifically to cheer on their children and grandchildren.

Convenient Features

Need to stay connected? The park has free WiFi available around the grounds.

Working up an appetite watching those home runs? The concession stand springs to life during baseball games with simple refreshments and snacks.

While the picnic facilities are somewhat limited (you'll find at least one table in the designated area), they provide a nice spot for a casual outdoor meal.

Nature calls? Portable toilets are available, particularly near the baseball fields, but having more restroom options would certainly be a welcome improvement.
