About the Location
Recreational Features
Kelly Park, situated on the south side of Indianapolis, Indiana, is a modest urban green space that offers recreational opportunities to the surrounding community. Located near the Concord Neighborhood Center, the park features a playground that includes ADA-accessible play equipment, ensuring children of all abilities can participate and enjoy.
The playground is complemented by swings and a whirl feature, catering to a range of age groups and interests.
Recent Improvements
The park is part of the city's broader efforts to enhance community spaces, as illustrated by its recent upgrades funded through the Lift Indy initiative. These improvements included enhanced playground equipment, a large shelter suitable for group gatherings or community events, and the addition of fitness equipment along a walking path.
A new fence was also installed to provide added safety and clearly define the park's boundaries. The enhancements were made to serve not just children but the entire community, with features designed to encourage outdoor activity and social interaction.
Natural Environment
Despite these upgrades, none of the park's green space was lost, preserving its natural environment. It remains a place where local residents can gather, play, and connect.
