Scenic Lake and Trails
The centerpiece of the park is a 40-acre lake surrounded by a paved trail that spans approximately 1.22 miles. This lighted trail makes it accessible for early morning or evening walks, runs, or cycling.
A diverse ecosystem features a variety of trees and plants that provide habitat for local wildlife. Visitors can often observe geese and other waterfowl around the lake.
Recreational Features
The area includes short, grass nature trails behind the playground, offering additional exploration opportunities for those interested in the local flora and fauna.
The playground provides a space for children to play, while the large pond allows for fishing and non-motorized watercraft use. Kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes are permitted on the lake, though gas-powered motorboats are prohibited.
Visitor Information
The park is open from sunrise to 10:00 PM, providing ample time for visitors to enjoy its amenities throughout the day.
While fishing is allowed according to Iowa Department of Natural Resources regulations, ice fishing is not permitted on Copper Creek Lake.
