About the Location

Lake Views & Trail Adventures

At the heart of this park sits a generous 40-acre lake encircled by a paved trail stretching about 1.22 miles. The lighted pathway means you can safely enjoy your morning jog or evening bike ride even when daylight isn't on your side.

The park's thriving ecosystem showcases a rich variety of trees and plants that local wildlife calls home. If you're lucky (and you probably will be), you'll spot geese and other waterfowl gliding across the water, adding to the park's peaceful vibe.

Fun for Everyone

Behind the playground, you'll discover short, grassy nature trails ideal for a quick adventure among local plants and critters.

Kids gravitate toward the playground for obvious reasons, while the large pond serves up fishing opportunities and space for non-motorized water activities. Feel free to bring your kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes for some lake time - just leave the gas-powered boats at home as they're not allowed here.

Paths to Explore

The paved walking and biking trails don't exist in isolation - they connect to a broader trail network in the area. With mostly level terrain, these paths welcome visitors of all fitness levels, whether you're breaking a sweat or just enjoying a leisurely stroll.

Mountain biking enthusiasts will appreciate the newer Fourmile Mountain Bike park situated north above the lake. You can reach this excellent addition either by following the trail through the woods or parking in the gravel lot and riding down the gravel road.

Good to Know

The park welcomes visitors from sunrise until 10:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy all it has to offer.

Fishing is perfectly fine as long as you follow the Iowa Department of Natural Resources regulations, but ice fishing isn't permitted on Copper Creek Lake - something to keep in mind during those winter months.
