Park Overview

Established in 1955, Orchard Park spans a considerable area in northwest Wichita, Kansas. The park serves as both a recreational and fitness hub for the local community, boasting a combination of natural beauty and well-equipped facilities that cater to individuals of all ages and abilities.

Inclusive Recreation

One of the park's most notable features is the Miracle Field, a specially designed baseball diamond for children and adults with disabilities, the first of its kind in Kansas. This highlights the park's inclusive approach to recreational activities.

For general sports enthusiasts, there is a wide selection of facilities, including a tennis court with lighting, a basketball court, a soccer field, and a beginner-friendly skatepark featuring ramps, rails, and more.

Family Amenities

Families will appreciate the playground designed with safety in mind, featuring a rubber safety surface, and the swimming pool area, which includes a wading pool, climbing wall, water slide, and diving boards.

Shaded areas and vending machines are available nearby to enhance the pool-going experience.

Recreation Center

The Orchard Recreation Center is a key feature of the park, offering a variety of services, including facility rentals and programs for all age groups. It is also part of the Good Neighbor Nutrition Program, which provides hot lunches for senior citizens.
