What makes these improvements special is that they weren't just imposed from above - the Smoketown community worked hand-in-hand with Louisville Parks and Recreation to reimagine the space.

The basketball court is now a colorful centerpiece where neighborhood kids and teens shoot hoops on well-maintained equipment. While the playground isn't enormous, it offers the essentials with swings, slides, and natural play elements that keep younger children entertained.
