Set on Charles Street in East Cambridge, Costa Lopez Park (sometimes called Costa Lopez Taylor Park or Anthony Costa Park) is one of those small but mighty green spaces that packs a surprising punch. This pocket park was renovated in 2008, transforming it from a simple neighborhood spot into a more developed green space.

A notable addition from the renovation? The community garden plots housed in raised beds. It's interesting to see urban gardening in action, with locals tending to their little patches of green. Around these gardens, you'll discover plenty of tables, chairs, benches, and sitting walls - fantastic for chatting with neighbors, enjoying a coffee, or just taking a moment to breathe in the middle of your busy day.

Art Meets Nature

You can't miss the park's entrance, marked by a beautiful sculptural gate created by artist Roberley Bell. It's not just functional - it's a piece of public art that sets the tone for this thoughtfully designed space.

The renovation closed off a section of Lopez Avenue, allowing the original park to connect with the newly added land. Rather than feeling like two separate areas stitched together, it all works as one cohesive space - a nice touch that shows careful planning.
