Generals Park
About Generals Park
A Tribute to Military Service
Located in Quincy, Massachusetts, Generals Park functions as both a peaceful recreational area and a tribute to 18 U.S. Generals with local connections, alongside all military personnel who called Quincy home.
Walk through the park and you'll encounter bronze likenesses of seven generals - three full statues standing tall and four busts that capture their essence. These artistic representations are beautifully complemented by an array of pavers and a stunning circular water feature that adds movement and life to the space.
What You'll Find Here
As you explore, you'll notice interpretive text etched into stone, telling the stories of three distinguished four-star generals and offering quiet moments for reflection. The materials throughout - brick and stone - weren't chosen by accident; they're built to last while harmonizing with the refreshed downtown Quincy aesthetic.
The designers have created a genuinely pleasant atmosphere with various places to sit and rest. Colorful plantings and shade trees surround the area, while a large open lawn provides plenty of space to relax, read a book, or simply enjoy some fresh air.
Part of a Bigger Picture
Situated in downtown Quincy, this park forms part of the New Quincy Center development and provides access to the city center. The park was officially dedicated on September 11, 2021, during a ceremony celebrating what speakers called Quincy's "modern-day patriots."
The space connects seamlessly with the neighboring Generals Bridge, creating both a functional pathway and a meaningful monument that marks your entrance into downtown Quincy.
