Hunt Park, a 7-acre neighborhood park in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is known for its expansive green space, mature trees, and panoramic views of the downtown skyline. Located northwest of the intersection of Summit Street and Main Street, it is bordered by Sunset, Daniel, and Spring Streets.

The park's strategic location atop a glacial hill offers scenic views that make it a delightful spot for relaxation and photography.

Playground and Recreation

The park features a play area best suited for children aged 5-10, complete with slides, monkey bars, swings, and a sandbox. The playground is surrounded by wooden mulch, and the area is shaded by a canopy of trees, providing a comfortable environment during hotter months.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a basketball court, tennis courts, a small softball diamond, and a large open field shared for soccer or football games during seasonal events.

Seasonal Activities

During winter, the park transforms into a popular spot for sledding and informal cross-country skiing, thanks to its hilly terrain.

Alongside recreational amenities, Hunt Park houses 22 half plots of community gardens managed by Project Grow, localized on the park's south side. This reflects its role in fostering community engagement and environmental sustainability.

Amenities

For visitor convenience, the park includes a small shelter with picnic tables and a grill, seasonal restrooms, and a drinking fountain. Benches and additional picnic tables are dispersed throughout, with an accessible path connecting the facilities to the playground and restrooms.

The shelter's compact design offers a cozy setup for small gatherings. However, the park does not have bike racks or dedicated walking trails.

Access and Parking

Street parking is readily available along Daniel, Sunset, and Spring Streets, ensuring easy access for visitors. Public transport stops on Miller Avenue are within a 10-minute walk for those commuting via bus.

While Hunt Park is a family-friendly environment throughout the year, some maintenance concerns, such as thin mulch on the playground and worn-out benches, have been noted.
