The well-kept tennis courts are waiting for your best serve. There are also handball courts for those quick-reflex games, and a nicely groomed softball field that's home to events like the Diamond Classic. The bleachers are clean, so spectators can enjoy the game in comfort.

Environmental Design

Spread across 11 acres, this park isn't just pretty - it's smart. The Ingham County Drain Commissioner transformed this multi-use community space to pull double duty: recreation for humans and serious ecological work managing stormwater and reducing pollution in the Red Cedar River.

Ranney Park plays a key role in the larger Montgomery Drain watershed improvement initiative. Look around and you'll notice lots of young trees that have been recently planted - give them a few years, and they'll grow into a magnificent canopy that'll make the park even more special.

Water Features

At the heart of the park lies an impressive stormwater management system, featuring a striking 160-foot-long water quality wall. It's not just functional - it's fascinating to watch as water flows through a series of basins, channels, waterfalls, and wetlands.
