Cottage Park

Cottage Park is one of the oldest parks in Minneapolis, dating back to 1883. Located in the Near North community of Minneapolis, this 4.1-acre neighborhood park serves local residents.

The park features both a full-size playground and a tot lot for younger children. In 2008, Cottage Park became the first park on the North side of Minneapolis to have its playground installed with community assistance during a community build event. This collaborative effort helped create a space that directly reflects the needs and desires of local residents.

Nestled into its elongated oval shape, Cottage Park offers several pathways for walking, as well as artist-designed benches that provide unique seating options throughout the green space. The park also includes a picnic area with multiple tables, including a chess table for those interested in outdoor gaming.

While relatively small in size, Cottage Park provides a valuable green space and recreational area for the surrounding urban neighborhood. Its longstanding presence in the community, dating back to the late 19th century, makes it an integral part of the local landscape and history.
