Waite Park

A Piece of Northeast History

Established in 1949 and named after Edward Foote Waite - a Hennepin County juvenile court judge - Waite Park brings 8.88 acres of green space to the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. There's something pleasantly symbiotic about the park's relationship with Waite Community School next door - the school often borrows the park's open spaces for events, while the park benefits from the youthful energy the students bring.

If you're the active type, Waite Park offers a good lineup of sports facilities. Regardless of whether you're organizing a weekend baseball game, setting up a casual softball match, kicking around a soccer ball, or throwing the pigskin on the football field, there's plenty of room to play.

More of a court sports enthusiast? The park includes basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. From serious competitors to weekend warriors, these facilities draw people of all skill levels during the year.

Right beside it, the splash pad offers refreshing water fun that kids absolutely love. Parents can relax a bit thanks to the secure fencing around the entire water area.
