Park Overview

Situated on Elleta Boulevard, Bear Creek Park is a snug 10-acre green space that feels like the backyard of the Bear Creek Family Townhouse community. Since the city took it under its wing in 1978, this modest park has become a great spot for both active recreation and those moments when you just need to sit back and breathe.

Amenities

Need a spot for a casual get-together? The park features a picnic shelter that comes with tables - no reservations needed, just show up and claim your space. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the full basketball court where you can shoot some hoops, while the playfield with backstop is ideal for an impromptu baseball or softball practice session.

If you're bringing the kids along, they'll make a beeline for the playground, which has been updated with newer equipment over the years - making it the obvious highlight for families visiting the park.

Community Connections

What really gives Bear Creek Park its special character is how it connects to the Bear Creek Trail. This pathway winds through different parts of Columbia, linking several larger parks and natural areas. So while the park itself maintains that cozy, neighborhood vibe, you can easily extend your adventure by hopping on the trail for a longer hike or bike ride through the city's greenbelt system.

Just outside the western edge of the park, you can find the Bear Creek Community Center, which nicely rounds out what this little pocket of Columbia has to offer.
