About the Location

Park Overview

Cosmo-Bethel Park is a 40-acre community park that provides a variety of recreational opportunities and natural features. Adjacent to Gentry Middle School, the park is recognized for its diverse amenities designed to cater to visitors of all ages and interests.

Established in 1971 and later renamed to honor the contributions of the Columbia Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club, the park has undergone significant developments over the years.

Water Features

One of the park's standout features is its 6-acre fishing lake, which is a popular spot for year-round fishing. In the winter, the lake is stocked with trout as part of a seasonal program, with ice fishing available when conditions permit.

A scenic 0.46-mile lakeside trail offers an easy path for walking and enjoying the tranquil surroundings.

Sports Facilities

The park shares a 12-court tennis complex with Columbia Public Schools, including eight lighted courts, which accommodate both public and school use.

Sports enthusiasts can make use of the baseball/softball practice field, sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. The open field areas also provide additional recreational options.

Amenities

For family gatherings and social events, the park offers multiple picnic shelters, including reservable spaces with lighting and electrical outlets. Children can enjoy the playground area.

Restrooms, including year-round options, and ADA drinking fountains ensure visitor convenience.

Cosmo-Bethel Park's commitment to accessibility and variety makes it a valuable green space for the Columbia community. Whether for sports, relaxation, or simply enjoying nature, the park offers something for everyone.
