Set in the heart of Columbia, Missouri, Douglass Park spans 7 acres of community-focused green space. This centrally located park represents a gathering spot where locals come together for recreation, relaxation, and community events.

Aquatic Features

When summer temperatures rise, the Douglass Family Aquatic Center becomes the place to be. With a double-loop slide, climbing wall, and spraygrounds, it's a great spot to cool off during hot Missouri days.

Recreational Amenities

Beyond the water fun, Douglass Park offers something for everyone. Shoot some hoops on the two full basketball courts, let the kids explore the playground, catch a performance at the outdoor amphitheater, or practice tricks at the small skate spot. You'll also find three picnic shelters fantastic for casual get-togethers and public restrooms that are open during the warmer months.

Historical Significance

The park's story began back in the 1960s, with major additions completed in the 1970s. But the history goes even deeper - the Douglass Pool, now part of the aquatic center, dates all the way back to the late 1930s when it was constructed through a federal public works program.

Over the years, the park has seen numerous renovations to keep it vibrant and relevant. A notable addition came in 1998 with the dedication of the Douglass Ballfield, expanding the park's role as a community sports venue.
