Aquatic Features
The park is home to the Douglass Family Aquatic Center, which features a double-loop slide, a climbing wall, and spraygrounds. This popular water facility provides refreshing recreation during warm weather months.
Recreational Amenities
Visitors can enjoy two full basketball courts, a playground, an outdoor amphitheater, and a small skate spot, catering to diverse recreational needs. Additionally, there are three picnic shelters available for informal use and public restrooms open during the warmer months.
Historical Significance
Initial construction began in the 1960s, with significant additions completed in the 1970s. Douglass Pool, part of the Douglass Family Aquatic Center, was originally built in the late 1930s through a federal public works program.
Over the decades, renovations and upgrades were undertaken to maintain its utility and appeal. In 1998, the Douglass Ballfield was dedicated, enhancing the park's role as a venue for sports and community events.
