Tucked away near Fairview Elementary School and bordered by Fairview Road in Columbia, Missouri, you'll find Fairview Park - a 27.2-acre community space that's been serving locals since 1974. This multi-use park combines natural beauty with practical amenities, offering a peaceful spot away from city life that's still conveniently close to home.

Play & Recreation Spaces

If you're curious about disc golf but intimidated by competitive courses, Fairview offers a more approachable option. The beginner-friendly 9-hole course features concrete tee pads, clear signage, and quality DISCatcher baskets. Every hole is considered an "ace run" - meaning even beginners have a chance at making it in one throw. The course is generally accessible with strollers and carts, though some areas might be challenging if you have mobility limitations.

Beyond disc golf, the park offers four tennis courts for those looking to practice their serve, plus both junior and regular soccer practice fields for the footballers among us. Kids haven't been forgotten either - the playground accommodates children of all ages, making it a family-friendly destination.

Natural Surroundings

Fairview strikes a nice balance between wooded areas on the east side and open spaces to the west. If you enjoy light hiking, the half-mile nature trail provides a quick escape into greenery. For those wanting more distance, the park connects to the Scott's Branch Trail, extending your walking or running options.

A word of caution: poison ivy does make appearances in some wooded sections and along field edges, so it's best to stick to established paths unless you're good at identifying these plants.

Planning a gathering? Fairview Park includes a reservable shelter that fits up to 80 people, complete with lights, electricity, picnic tables (including an ADA-accessible one), and an ADA double BBQ grill - meant for family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The basics are covered too: drinking water, restrooms, and parking (shared with Fairview Elementary) make visits comfortable and convenient, whether you're staying for an hour or the whole day.
