Park Overview

Nestled in Lincoln, Nebraska, Tierra Williamsburg Park sits at the southeast corner where South 27th Street meets Highway 2. This community green space spans a generous 123.3 acres - plenty of room to stretch your legs and breathe in some fresh air.

The park represents a key access point to the Tierra Williamsburg Trail, which winds its way from Highway 2 at 27th Street through the Williamsburg neighborhood until it reaches San Mateo Lane.

Amenities and Features

Gently winding trails meander through open spaces, excellent for your morning jog, a leisurely walk, or a bike ride. The trees are still on the younger side, so don't expect tons of shade just yet - but give them time, they're working on it!

You can find picnic tables scattered throughout, ideal for an impromptu lunch or a planned gathering with friends. What's nice about this park is its clean, relatively peaceful atmosphere - a welcome respite from the usual hustle and bustle.

Playground

In 2023, the playground got a modern makeover. It's now primarily geared toward the little ones - toddlers and early elementary-aged children will feel right at home here. The updated design features a slide and a small swingset sitting atop a rubberized surface (goodbye, sandy shoes!).

It's not the biggest playground you'll ever see, but it does the job nicely for the neighborhood kids. Just be aware that it can get busy during popular times - especially on those perfect Nebraska afternoons.

Connectivity

One of the best things about Tierra Williamsburg is how it connects to Lincoln's broader network of parks and trails. This makes it easy to extend your outdoor adventure beyond the park's boundaries if you're feeling particularly energetic. The adjacent walking trail has become particularly popular with local dog owners - your four-legged friends will thank you for the outing.

With its convenient location and open spaces, the park offers a welcome piece of nature within Lincoln's urban landscape - a place where you can momentarily disconnect and recharge without having to venture far from home.
