Roxbury Park

Recreational Amenities

The grassy areas at Roxbury Park are fantastic for throwing down a blanket for a picnic or just lounging around on a sunny afternoon. If you're seeking some shade, there are plenty of spots under trees where you can cool off and unwind. The park is in southwestern Omaha and provides a nice change of scenery with its open spaces.

Kids will make a beeline for the playground, which has become something of a neighborhood favorite. While it's not the newest equipment in town, it's kept in good shape and offers three slides, multiple climbing areas, and four swings. The climbing structures are especially appealing to older children who love scrambling up the various ladders and challenging themselves.

Sports enthusiasts aren't left out either. The well-maintained baseball field hosts a regular Sunday softball league that brings the community together, while the soccer fields provide space for both organized matches and impromptu kickarounds.

Picnic Spots

When you get hungry, Roxbury Park offers several options for outdoor dining. Scattered across the grounds are three picnic areas, including a covered ramada with two tables - excellent for those days when you want some protection from the sun or a light drizzle.

Beyond the designated spots, the park's tree-shaded grassy areas make for ideal impromptu picnic locations. It's no wonder this park has become a go-to spot for family gatherings and community get-togethers.

Outdoor Activities

If you're looking to get your steps in, Roxbury Park is a good choice. The park is popular with walking and running enthusiasts in the area. One of the most charming features is the walking path along the creek, where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll while taking in the natural surroundings.

The spacious grassy areas aren't just pretty to look at - they're meant for tossing a frisbee, playing catch, or letting your four-legged friend burn off some energy.

Facilities

Practical matters are handled nicely here too. The park's porto potty facilities are surprisingly clean and well-maintained - something that can't be said for every park. You'll also find numerous benches scattered around the grounds, offering convenient spots to rest, people-watch, or simply enjoy some quiet time outdoors.
