About the Location

A Tribute to Henderson's Parks Pioneer

Dundee Jones Park is a newly constructed public park located in Henderson, Nevada. Opened in May 2023, it is the 70th park in the city of Henderson. The park is named after Dundee Jones, the city's first Parks and Recreation Department Director, who played a significant role in expanding Henderson's park system.

Location and Size

Situated near the intersection of Jeffreys Street and West Horizon Ridge Parkway, Dundee Jones Park spans an impressive 3,659,040 square feet. The park features a variety of recreational facilities designed to cater to different age groups and interests.

Fly Fishing Themed Elements

A notable aspect of the park is its thematic elements honoring Dundee Jones's passion for fly fishing. These include metal trout sculptures placed throughout rock streams, fly fishing reel themes, and a concrete fly fisherman statue.

Additionally, a large mural on the park's restroom facility depicts a silhouette of a person fly fishing at sunset, catching a green and red fish.

Infrastructure and Connectivity

The park's construction involved significant infrastructure work, including the installation of a reinforced concrete box drainage system through the center of the park, connecting to existing drainage at the north and south street connections.

Dundee Jones Park serves as a connective hub for trail users in West Henderson, providing access from St. Rose Parkway, Seven Hills, and Anthem areas. This connectivity enhances the park's role in the broader community landscape.
