What's impressive is how these fields maintain their grassy surfaces despite Nevada's unforgiving desert climate - they're remarkably flat and drain well after rain.

There's also a pleasant walking trail winding through the park. We've noticed it's a favorite spot for people walking their dogs or just getting some steps in without having to brave the gym.

Just a heads-up though - sometimes pieces of equipment might be under repair, and the playground sits a fair distance from the restrooms. Something to keep in mind if you're bringing toddlers who might need quick bathroom breaks.

You'll come across plenty of parking here (a blessing in the Vegas area), and several picnic tables scattered throughout if you want to enjoy a sandwich or a packed lunch in the sunshine.

Dog owners will be happy to know that four-legged friends are welcome within the park, as long as they're leashed. You can find several stations with bags for pet waste, though it's always good to bring your own just in case.
