About the Location
Location and Overview
Nestled in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trigono Hills Park opened its gates on January 29, 2020. You'll discover this escape tucked near the 215 freeway at the intersection of West Gilmore and Cliff Shadows Parkway.
What makes this park special? For starters, the breathtaking mountain views that frame your outdoor experience. Whether you're relaxing on a bench or exploring the desert trails, those majestic peaks provide a stunning contrast to the city landscape below.
Play Areas
Kids have plenty of options here! There are two distinct play zones: a shaded kinetic play area designed specifically for the 5-12 crowd, and a separate shaded playground where the little ones (ages 2-5) can safely explore.
The playground equipment isn't your run-of-the-mill setup - it features unique climbing structures and slides that keep children engaged and active. Just a heads-up: there aren't any swings available.
Perhaps the biggest hit with families is the splash pad next to the playgrounds. It's a welcome respite during those scorching Vegas summers. Pro tip: bring water shoes, and keep an eye out for the occasional bee during warmer months.
Hiking and Walking Trails
Feeling like a stroll or something more adventurous? You'll find walking paths winding around the grounds. If you're up for a challenge, the hiking trails extend into the surrounding mountains, offering some of the most spectacular sunset views in the area.
Just know that these rocky/gravel trails are better suited for experienced hikers. If you're bringing your four-legged friend along, be mindful of those sharp rocks that might be tough on their paws.
Special Features
The park's interpretive garden stands out as a unique attraction, offering a quiet space to learn about local plant life.
There are also natural grass play areas ideal for spreading out a picnic blanket, tossing a frisbee, or just lounging in the sun. Dog owners will appreciate these grassy spots for walking their pets, with conveniently placed doggy bags throughout the grounds.
Amenities
Planning a get-together? The covered pavilions with picnic tables make Trigono Hills an ideal spot for gatherings. Just remember, if your group exceeds 25 people, you'll need to make a reservation.
Other practical amenities include clean restrooms near the parking lot and play areas, plus barbecue grills for those who want to cook up some outdoor treats.
The parking situation is generally good, but it can fill up when multiple events coincide.
Versatile Space
What we love about Trigono Hills is how it balances active recreation with quiet enjoyment of nature, all within the city limits. It's particularly well-suited for families with kids of different ages, offering a clean, well-maintained environment where the community can gather, picnic, play, and simply enjoy being outdoors.
