Recreational Facilities

The park spreads out with generous grassy areas and paved walking paths that are meant for a casual stroll or your morning jog. Baseball enthusiasts will appreciate the two dedicated fields - a Little League field and a Babe Ruth field - where you'll often find kids learning the fundamentals during T-ball games or youth teams practicing their skills. If tennis is more your speed, you can hit the park's two tennis courts, which have the added bonus of being suitable for pickleball if you're riding that particular sports trend.

Equestrian Area

One of the park's more unique features is its horse arena measuring about 290 feet by 145 feet. If you're a horse owner in the area, you'll appreciate having this county-maintained space so close to home. It's a convenient spot for training or simply enjoying time with your equine companion without having to venture far from the neighborhood.

Picnic and Open Spaces

When you need a shady spot to relax or have a meal, the covered group picnic pavilion provides shelter. While you can't reserve it ahead of time (it's first-come, first-served), it's a great place to catch your breath and maybe enjoy a sandwich. The surrounding multi-use turf areas give you plenty of space to throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, or simply spread out a blanket and enjoy the day.

Park Amenities

No need to cut your park visit short when nature calls - Golden Valley Park offers both permanent restrooms and portable toilets on the grounds. The mix of gravel walkways and grassy areas gives you different surfaces to explore, and younger visitors will enjoy the playground, but it's worth noting that some equipment, like swings for older kids, has been removed over time.
