Ivan Sack Park

Riverside Retreat

Right next to Idlewild Drive in Reno, Nevada, Ivan Sack Park might be small in size at just 3 acres, but it packs a peaceful punch as a natural oasis alongside the Truckee River. This little urban gem offers a quiet escape from the bustle of city life.

The park is blessed with mature trees that cast cool, welcoming shade - well-suited for those hot Nevada days. If you happen to visit in fall, you're in for a treat as these trees transform into a canvas of autumn colors.

Recreation Opportunities

A paved path loops around the park, ideal for those moments when you just need to stretch your legs or clear your mind. The riverside walkway is particularly charming, attracting locals out for their morning jogs, afternoon walks, or dog-walking adventures.

One of the park's best features is its direct river access, letting you get close to the flowing waters of the Truckee. For the more adventurous, the park connects to the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail - a fantastic route if you're looking to extend your bike ride or walk.

Family Features

Kids haven't been forgotten here. The playground equipment is kept in good shape, making this a nice spot to bring little ones who need to burn off some energy while you enjoy the river views.

Perhaps most valuable is how this park doesn't stand alone - it's connected via walking paths to nearby Idlewild Park, creating part of Reno's network of riverside green spaces. You can start here and easily expand your outdoor adventure along the river.
