Sports options? There are several available. Shoot some hoops on the full-size basketball court or practice your serve at one of the two tennis courts. Soccer players can enjoy the soccer field, while skateboarders can show off their tricks at the dedicated skate park.

One of our favorite features has to be the long winding walking trail - fantastic for getting your steps in or just enjoying a leisurely stroll. The bonus? You'll be treated to some gorgeous views of the Sandia Mountains along the way. The natural backdrop makes for a pleasant exercise environment.

Family-Friendly Features

If you've got kids in tow, you'll appreciate the playground area that keeps the little ones entertained. Parents often mention how much they love the abundant shade around the playground - a true blessing during those hot New Mexico afternoons.

There's plenty of green space throughout the park, so you can spread out a blanket for a picnic, toss a frisbee around, or simply lie back and cloud-watch. The numerous shaded areas make Rinconada particularly inviting during warmer months when that New Mexico sun is doing its thing.

To keep it real - some of the equipment is showing its age a bit. But don't let that deter you! Despite some wear and tear, safety doesn't seem to be an issue. Many locals describe this park as a natural oasis within the urban landscape.
