Situated in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Mountain View Park covers 20 acres of public recreational space for locals and visitors alike.

If you've got kids in tow, you'll discover a playground area complete with swings and age-appropriate equipment that'll keep the little ones entertained. Meanwhile, if you're looking to squeeze in some exercise, the fitness stations dotting the Buddy Trail offer a refreshing alternative to indoor gym workouts.

Recreation Spaces

Dog parents, rejoice! Your four-legged friends have their own slice of paradise in the dog park section tucked behind the main area, right next to the fire station. The park also features expansive grassy fields that are excellent for spreading out a picnic blanket, kicking around a soccer ball, or simply lounging on the grass with a good book.

For the more adventurous types, there's a skate park where you can practice ollies and kickflips to your heart's content. Not into skateboarding? No problem. The walking paths and trails make for peaceful morning jogs or afternoon strolls.

Picnic and Shade Areas

Across from the grassy field, you'll spot a covered gazebo housing two large picnic tables - an ideal spot for family gatherings or catching up with friends. There's also a grilling area available, however it's worth noting there's only one grill, so you might need to time your BBQ plans accordingly.

While the gazebo offers respite from the sun, it's good to know that much of the park, including the playground and dog park, doesn't have extensive shade coverage. This is something to keep in mind during those scorching New Mexico summer days - don't forget your sunscreen!

Accessibility and Convenience

The park is thoughtfully designed with handicap-accessible features throughout, ensuring everyone can enjoy what it has to offer. You'll discover a dedicated parking lot, but it can fill up quickly during soccer games and events. If that happens, there's some street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood.

One thing to note: the park doesn't have permanent restroom facilities - just a portable toilet in the parking lot area. The park welcomes visitors daily from 6 AM to 10 PM.
