Tucked away on South Park Avenue, just west of Louisiana Street, Lanigan Park houses a splash pad that's become something of a summer sanctuary for Buffalo locals. It's one of several water play areas the City of Buffalo maintains, offering a much-needed escape from those sticky summer days that Buffalo occasionally serves up.

The splash pad typically welcomes water enthusiasts from late spring all the way through Labor Day. When the summer is in full swing and Buffalo Public School students are enjoying their freedom, you'll come across the splash pad bubbling with activity daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

What makes this splash pad particularly wonderful is that it's completely free to use. It's a no-frills way for families to enjoy some outdoor fun without opening their wallets - something we can all appreciate these days.
