Recreational Facilities

Located in Charlotte's Third Ward, Frazier Park stretches across 16.5 acres of urban greenery. This little oasis offers a nice mix of activities for everyone. The basketball courts feature two well-maintained full courts where you can shoot hoops or join a pickup game. There are also tennis courts for those who prefer racquet sports, and a soccer field with lights that automatically kick on at 6PM for evening matches.

Dog Park

If you're a dog parent, you'll appreciate the designated dog park with thoughtfully designed separate areas for small and large dogs. Your furry friends can run free in these spacious enclosures, with water stations available to keep them hydrated. It's particularly perfect if you've got a larger dog who needs room to stretch those legs and burn off energy.

Irwin Creek Greenway

The park connects to Charlotte's Irwin Creek Greenway system, offering both paved and gravel trails that meander alongside Irwin Creek. The paths accommodate everything from brisk walks and morning jogs to leisurely bike rides.

In certain spots along the greenway, you can catch glimpses of Charlotte's skyline peeking through the trees. The trails also link to other parts of the city, including a connection near the Carolina Panthers stadium.

Children's Memorial Walkway

One of the more moving spaces within Frazier Park is the Children's Memorial Walkway. This thoughtful area honors Charlotte children who have passed away, featuring engraved bricks, cherry trees, comfortable benches, sculptures of children at play, and a monument with inscriptions.

Particularly poignant is the section dedicated to mothers who have lost children to violence. Each January, families of homicide victims gather here for a solemn remembrance ceremony.

Playground and Family Activities

Kids will make a beeline for the generous playground with its slides, swings, and monkey bars. There's plenty of open space for little ones to run around, however you should know there's no fence surrounding the playground, and the park doesn't have public restrooms.

The open grassy areas make ideal spots for spreading out a picnic blanket or organizing a family gathering. You'll come across both sun-drenched areas and shady retreats for those scorching summer days.

Despite being so central, you can usually find parking without too much trouble.
