Just a heads up: the playground equipment that once stood here has been removed due to flooding issues. The good news? The City of Durham's Department of Parks and Recreation is actively planning renovations for the space. They're collecting community input, so if you have ideas for what would make this park better, now's your chance to share them.

As of 2022, a complete renovation was in the works. You should note that playground structures might be temporarily unavailable because of those recurring flooding concerns that plague the area.

What's Still Here

Don't worry - there's still plenty to enjoy at Old Farm Road Park. A spacious athletic field awaits your soccer games or frisbee tosses, and the basketball court stands ready for a pickup game or some solo practice shots.

Feeling hungry? The park features multiple reservable picnic shelters complete with tables and a grill. These spots are nestled near the stream, creating a peaceful backdrop while you enjoy your outdoor meal.

The park is easy to reach via US-501, however you'll need to navigate several speed humps throughout the neighborhood to get there. Your four-legged friends are welcome too - just keep them on a leash while exploring.

If you're looking for some quiet time, weekdays here tend to be especially peaceful. It's a lovely spot to spread out a blanket, catch up on some reading, or even set up a temporary remote office under the trees.
