Story Park

Story Park is an interactive outdoor space located in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina at the corner of 3rd and Chestnut Streets, adjacent to the New Hanover County Main Library. The park extends the library experience outdoors, featuring hands-on learning opportunities for visitors of all ages.

The park includes four demonstration gardens showcasing different plant varieties. It also contains large musical instruments that visitors can play, providing an interactive musical element. A StoryWalk® installation allows families to read pages from children's picture books posted along a walking path through the park.

For games and recreation, Story Park has a life-sized chess and checkers board. The park aims to blend education, nature, music, literature and play in an accessible public green space in the heart of downtown Wilmington.

Story Park is open daily from dawn until dusk, allowing visitors to enjoy the outdoor amenities throughout the day. Its location next to the public library makes it a natural extension of the library's educational mission into an open-air setting.
