Cascade Valley Metro Park is a 526-acre park located in central Summit County between Akron and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The Oxbow Area is one section of this larger park, situated along the Cuyahoga River.
Trails and Hiking
The Oxbow Area features a 1.2-mile moderate difficulty hiking trail that winds through the floodplain and ascends the valley sides, offering scenic views of the river valley below.
The trail provides opportunities to observe local flora and fauna, including wildflowers in spring and summer.
Natural Features
This area of the park gets its name from the oxbow bend in the Cuyahoga River visible from certain vantage points. The terrain includes both wooded areas and open fields.
