Embshoff Woods is a 334-acre nature preserve located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The park is part of the Great Parks of Hamilton County system and offers visitors a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities.

The park's natural setting provides opportunities for wildlife viewing and birdwatching. Visitors may spot various woodland birds, including woodpeckers, and during the spring, wildflowers such as sessile trillium, common blue violets, and Solomon's seal can be seen blooming along the trails.

Recreational Trails

The park features a 1.0-mile fitness trail that winds through the wooded area, providing a scenic route for walkers, joggers, and nature enthusiasts. The trail is moderately hilly, offering a bit of a challenge for those looking for a more intense workout.

Embshoff Woods is open year-round, allowing visitors to enjoy the changing seasons and the diverse flora and fauna of the area. The park's location high above the Ohio River offers some scenic views, particularly for those interested in observing raptors like red-tailed hawks soaring on the updrafts.

Activities and Amenities

Embshoff Woods is also home to a 9-hole disc golf course. The course is laid out in a small area between two ridges high above the Ohio River, with low baskets designed to compensate for winds. This unique setting provides an interesting challenge for disc golf players of various skill levels.

For families with children, the park includes a playground area where kids can engage in active play. There are also reservable picnic shelters available for gatherings and events.
