Park Overview

Nestled in the Belmont neighborhood of Dayton, Ohio, Belmont Park spans a generous 55.5 acres of public green space. This urban green space offers activities for many interests, whether you're looking to break a sweat or simply enjoy some fresh air.

The landscape here isn't your typical flat park experience - rolling hills (some quite steep!) create an interesting terrain that's dotted with large trees offering plenty of shade on sunny days. A newer bike/walking path meanders through the grounds, excellent for a leisurely stroll, walking your four-legged friend, or getting in those daily steps.

Disc Golf Course

If you've never tried disc golf, Belmont Park might be the place to start. The park's 19-hole disc golf course, established back in 1985, is popular with local players. Taking full advantage of the natural hills and woods, the course offers a scenic and engaging experience.

The course offers good variety - you can find a mix of open fairways and wooded holes that challenge your throwing skills without being overwhelming. The tree hazards and elevation changes add complexity to the game, and many locals enjoy playing here regularly.

The course even has a claim to fame - it was selected as one of the venues for the 1991 Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) World Championships. Don't let that intimidate you though; the layout is actually quite accessible for beginners.

The park includes several features for children. The three-tier playground area is relatively new and offers an interesting multi-level play experience. The multi-level design keeps children engaged and challenged in a fun way.

Planning a family gathering or birthday celebration? The park's picnic shelters and tables provide comfortable spots for outdoor meals and social events. You can even rent the shelters for special occasions if you're organizing something bigger.
