About the Location
Urban Oasis in Downtown
Guthrie Green is an urban park and community gathering space located in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. Opened in 2012, the park spans 2.6 acres on what was formerly an industrial site and freight yard.
The park features a large central lawn area surrounded by walking paths and gardens. A covered outdoor stage and pavilion anchors one end of the park, providing space for concerts, performances and events.
Refreshing Water Features
Interactive fountains and a splash pad offer a place for visitors to cool off during warmer months. These water elements are especially popular with children and add both beauty and functionality to the park's design.
Dog owners will appreciate the pet-friendly drinking fountains designed with a lower bowl specifically for dogs, though visitors note these occasionally require maintenance.
Sustainability Features
Guthrie Green was designed with sustainability in mind. The park utilizes LED lighting throughout to reduce energy usage.
A geothermal system below the lawn helps heat and cool neighboring buildings. Solar panels on the pavilion contribute power to park operations.
Bioswales and other features help manage stormwater runoff, further enhancing the park's environmental benefits.

Community Events
The park hosts a variety of free community events and activities throughout the year. These include concerts, festivals, fitness classes (including free yoga and Zumba), movie screenings, and cultural celebrations.
Food trucks frequently visit the park, particularly on Wednesdays for Food Truck Wednesday. Even when no events are scheduled, the green space provides a place for picnics, relaxation and recreation in the downtown area.
Amenities and Facilities
Guthrie Green offers several amenities for visitors' comfort and convenience. Clean restrooms are available in the pavilion area, though during larger events they can become busy.
The park provides free WiFi throughout, making it a pleasant place to work or study outdoors. Shaded seating areas around the perimeter offer respite from the sun, while the open lawn invites visitors to spread out blankets for picnics or relaxation.
Dog-friendly policies welcome leashed pets, with waste bag stations provided throughout the grounds to help keep the area clean.
Location and Access
The park is privately owned and operated by a non-profit organization, but aims to serve as a welcoming community space for all. Its central location in the Arts District puts it within walking distance of museums (including the Bob Dylan Center and Woody Guthrie Center), restaurants, bars, and other attractions.
Street parking is available around the area, though it can become limited during popular events. The park is open daily from 6AM to 11PM.
