Leake Park is a pleasant green space tucked away in Tulsa. The open green spaces here are meant for throwing down a blanket and soaking up some sun or tossing a frisbee around. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of options - tennis courts for those who enjoy a good rally, volleyball courts for beach-style fun minus the sand, a baseball field for America's favorite pastime, and a soccer field where you can channel your inner World Cup star.

If you've got little ones in tow, there's a playground with climbing equipment to keep them entertained, but it's worth noting it's on the smaller side. One of our favorite features is the paved walking trail that loops around the park - it's exactly one mile long, making it super easy to track your exercise goals. It's become something of a local favorite for both fitness enthusiasts and dog owners taking their furry friends for a stroll.

Natural Features

The heart of Leake Park is undoubtedly its picturesque pond, home to a charming collection of local wildlife. You'll likely spot ducks gliding across the water, geese wandering about, and if you're observant, turtles sunning themselves along the edges. Bring your fishing gear if that's your thing - the pond is open for catch-and-release fishing, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We love how the mature trees scattered around the park create pockets of cool shade, especially welcome during those hot Oklahoma summers. The section of walking path that winds through these shaded areas is particularly refreshing. The wooded area on the west side adds a touch of wilderness to your urban park experience, making it feel like you've traveled much farther from the city than you actually have.

Picnic and Gathering Areas

Planning a family get-together or just want to enjoy a meal outdoors? Leake Park has you covered with several pavilions complete with picnic tables and charcoal BBQ grills. These covered areas are practical as well as pleasant, offering protection whether the sun is blazing or a surprise shower rolls through.

The grilling stations and picnic spots tend to fill up quickly during nice weather - many people enjoy having meals outdoors in this setting.

Community Space

Leake Park attracts Tulsans of all ages and interests. Whether you're looking for active recreation or just a peaceful spot to unwind, the park offers various options.

The dedicated parking lot makes access convenient, and with extended hours from 5AM to 11PM daily, you can fit in a visit whether you're an early bird or a night owl. One thing to note: the park doesn't have permanent restroom facilities, so plan accordingly. The park provides a convenient outdoor space for the local community without having to venture far from the city.
