Located in the heart of the Swan Lake neighborhood, this charming 4-acre urban park revolves around a picturesque man-made lake. What's now a serene city escape actually started out as a humble spring-fed watering hole for cattle back around 1900. It's quite a transformation to think about while you're enjoying the views today.

The Fountain's Revival

At the heart of the park stands its signature feature - a beautifully designed stone fountain that lights up the lake. Built originally in the 1920s, this historic centerpiece recently returned to operation. After sitting dormant for over two decades, In November 2023, it was restored to working condition after being dormant for over twenty years.

Perfect for a Stroll

The 0.4-mile walking path encircling the lake offers a lovely route for getting some steps in. No matter if you're into casual walks, morning jogs, or bike rides, the driveable loop provides just enough distance without overwhelming. It's become something of a local favorite for peaceful evening walks - you'll often spot couples enjoying the tranquil setting as twilight falls.

A Birdwatcher's Delight

The park has become a mini sanctuary for waterfowl, making it a wonderful spot to connect with nature. Throughout the year, you can observe various ducks, geese, and swans going about their daily lives. You can observe these birds building nests, laying eggs, and raising their young against the backdrop of the city. The landscaping creates a pocket of nature right in urban Tulsa.

Artistic Touches

Keep an eye out for the impressive bronze sculpture of a trumpeter swan in flight that greets you at the entrance. Art enthusiasts will also appreciate "Enchantment" - a charming sculpture depicting a boy with a swan that has quite the history, having been relocated from the 1934 Chicago World's Fair.

The park welcomes four-legged friends, with bags provided for cleanup. Kids can enjoy a small playground area with swings. You'll need to find street parking around the perimeter, but it's generally not difficult. The surrounding neighborhood of Craftsman homes adds to the overall charm and historic feel of the area.

Swan Lake Park functions as a community gathering place throughout the year. The annual block party in September draws crowds, while the Halloween parade and costume contest delights families. Come November, "Lights on Swan Lake" transforms the park into a festive gathering spot that showcases the tight-knit community spirit of this special place.
