About the Location
Park History
Established in 1976 with the help of the Kiwanis Club of Bend, this 4.2-acre park has been a fixture of the community for decades.
In 2012, the park underwent renovations to improve sidewalks and access within its grounds.
Recreational Facilities
The park offers a variety of recreational facilities for visitors of all ages. It features open turf areas, providing ample space for casual games and activities.
A playground area caters to younger visitors, while sports enthusiasts can enjoy the half-court basketball court and a small baseball/softball field. The baseball field is equipped with a 50-foot pitching distance and 60-foot and 65-foot base distances, though it lacks an outfield fence.
Amenities
Kiwanis Park is also known for its picnic facilities, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings and community events. The park includes a picnic shelter with rectangular tables, perfect for outdoor meals and small celebrations.
Additionally, the park boasts a good view of Pilot Butte, making it a popular location for watching the July 4th fireworks display.
Activities and Services
During the warmer months, the park hosts youth and adult softball games, contributing to its role as a community gathering place.
Seasonal restrooms and a drinking fountain are available for visitor convenience.
