About the Location
A Touch of Bend History
Located on Centennial Street is a park that's been part of Bend's story since 1976. The Kiwanis Club of Bend helped establish this 4.2-acre green space, which has grown alongside the community for decades.
In 2012, the park got a bit of a facelift with renovations improving the sidewalks and overall accessibility within the grounds.
Places to Play
No matter if you're looking to toss a frisbee or give your four-legged friend some exercise, the open turf areas offer plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the fresh air.
Got kids in tow? The playground area is a hit with the younger crowd, featuring multiple slides that range in size, an engaging climbing structure, and both kiddie and standard swings. It's particularly well-suited for little adventurers ages 3 and up.
Sports fans haven't been forgotten either. The half-court basketball court is great for a quick pickup game, while the small baseball/softball field offers a 50-foot pitching distance with 60-foot and 65-foot base distances. Just keep in mind there's no outfield fence, so those home runs might keep on rolling!
Take a Break
Kiwanis Park is a nice spot for gathering with friends and family. The picnic shelter houses rectangular tables that can accommodate small groups, with additional picnic tables dotted around the park. Regardless of whether you're planning a birthday celebration or just enjoying a sandwich between meetings, there's a spot for you.
The park offers a good view of Pilot Butte, making it a nice location for watching the July 4th fireworks.
For those walking dogs, you'll appreciate the thoughtfully placed dog waste stations complete with bags and trash receptacles. The gravel trail circling the park provides a walking loop through this neighborhood green space.
Seasonal Offerings
During summer months, the park comes alive with youth and adult softball games, creating a true community atmosphere.
A portable toilet stands ready year-round, while the seasonal restrooms and drinking fountain open up during the warmer months to keep you comfortable and hydrated during your visit.
