Tucked away in Bend, Oregon, Pageant Park is an intimate park spanning just 0.3 acres along the Deschutes River. It sits next to Harmon Park and connects to Drake Park via a pedestrian bridge across the water.

A Bit of History

The Bend Park and Recreation District adopted this little touch of nature in 1977 from the City of Bend. The name? It's a nod to the Bend Water Pageant - a cherished local tradition that ran annually from 1933 to 1965.

In 1999, the park got a makeover to spruce things up and make it more accessible for everyone.

Pageant Park offers that tranquil riverside vibe that's ideal for a mental reset. There are benches and tables scattered throughout shaded areas - good spots to sit with a book or enjoy a sandwich with a view.

There's also an open lawn where you can spread out a blanket, toss a frisbee, or just lie back and cloud-watch. The flowering beds add color that changes with the seasons.

The park has a small boat launch - nothing fancy, just a simple access point for kayaks or canoes. The straightforward setup works well for first-time paddlers.

The park includes two ADA parking spots that are shared with adjacent facilities. If those are full, additional street parking is usually available nearby.

Pageant Park welcomes visitors daily from 5 am to 10 pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy this small but sweet riverside retreat.
