At the heart of Churchill Sports Park lies an all-weather synthetic turf athletic field that's pretty remarkable - it can handle up to eight times the play of a natural field. What does that mean for you? Back-to-back games can happen even when Oregon's famous rain is coming down.

This synthetic field is just one of four in Eugene, making it a valuable resource for local sports enthusiasts. The park doesn't stop there though - it also offers several natural grass sports fields well-suited for soccer matches or softball games.

Come weekends, you'll discover the park buzzing with youth and adult sports clubs, not to mention school athletic events. For the skaters among us, there's an impressive 8,500 square foot skatepark that caters to intermediate and advanced riders.

The skatepark features fluid lines and deep bowls inspired by Portland's legendary Burnside Skatepark - a fact that earns it high marks from local skaters. Rounding out the athletic options are tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and an ADA-accessible children's playground that ensures fun for kids of all abilities.

Beyond the Games

Spread across 40.41 acres, this sports complex offers more than just places to play. Walking paths meander around the grounds, great for a casual stroll or morning jog. You'll find all the essentials too - restrooms, lighting, picnic tables, and benches for when you need a breather.

On the western side, there's a community garden that's become a real neighborhood project, with support from local groups and schools. While it's not officially part of Eugene's community gardens program, it's a wonderful spot for residents to grow their own veggies.
