About the Location
Sporting Facilities
The centerpiece of the park is an all-weather synthetic turf athletic field that can support up to eight times the amount of play as a natural turf field. This allows for back-to-back games even in rainy conditions.
The synthetic field is one of four such fields in Eugene, helping to expand play time for local sports teams and leagues. In addition, Churchill Sports Park features natural grass sports fields for activities like soccer and softball.
The park is a popular venue for youth and adult sports clubs on weekends, as well as school athletics. For skateboarding enthusiasts, the park includes an 8,500 square foot skatepark designed for intermediate to advanced skill levels.
The skatepark offers fluid lines and deep bowls in the style of Portland's Burnside Skatepark. Other recreational facilities include tennis courts, basketball courts, and an ADA-accessible children's playground.
Park Amenities
Walking paths wind through this 40.41 acre sports complex for those looking to stroll or jog. Amenities like restrooms, lighting, picnic tables, and benches are available for visitor comfort.
The park also houses a community garden in its western section, supported by local neighborhood groups and schools. While not part of Eugene's official community gardens program, it provides an opportunity for residents to grow their own produce.
Located adjacent to Churchill High School, this park aims to serve as both an athletic complex and neighborhood park, offering active recreation as well as more passive enjoyment of green space for the surrounding community.
