A Heartfelt Tribute

The park bears the name of Beth Ann Handshy-Booker, a treasured local resident who called Old North Knoxville home for over two decades. After Beth lost her courageous battle with cancer in January 2022, the community chose to honor her memory and contributions by renaming this special place after her.

What was once neglected, overgrown land has been beautifully transformed into a welcoming community space. The park now provides a safe haven for kids to play away from street traffic, centered around a playground where little ones can burn off energy while parents catch up with neighbors.
