About the Location
History and Origin
Vaughn Camp Park is a 12.7-acre public park located on the south side of Abilene, Texas. Established on June 12, 1958, the park was developed through the generous donations of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Camp and Mrs. Ora E. Vaughn, from whom it derives its name.
The City of Abilene later purchased additional acreage to expand the park.

The City of Abilene has continued to maintain and upgrade the park's facilities over the years, with renovations to the playground area and the addition of new amenities in 2001.
