A Place to Remember

Brian Bachmann Community Park stretches across 42.32 acres as College Station's first community park with athletics at its heart. Named for Constable Brian Bachmann, who tragically died while serving in 2012, the park honors his memory and dedication to the community - especially his passionate involvement with College Station Little League as a coach, safety officer, and board member.

Play Ball and Beyond

At the heart of the park, you'll discover six well-lit baseball fields. Four have 200-foot fences while two stretch to 300 feet, excellent for accommodating both little leaguers and the big kids in senior league. We're particularly impressed by the drainage systems here - they really do help keep games going even after Texas decides to pour down rain.

The athletic options don't stop at baseball. Soccer fields cater to both adults and kids, ensuring everyone has space to practice their footwork. The tennis and basketball courts come with lights for those evening games when the Texas heat finally backs off. Tennis enthusiasts might appreciate that the courts include pickleball lines - just remember to bring your own net if pickleball's your game.

Fun For Everyone

Whether you're an athlete or just looking to relax, Bachmann Park has plenty of options. The playground features kid-friendly rubber flooring and, thankfully, shade covering - a true blessing during those scorching summer months. It's especially great for younger children who are still finding their footing.

For something different, try your hand at the horseshoe pits or gather friends for a match on the sand volleyball court. The skate park draws quite a crowd, from beginners on scooters to experienced skateboarders practicing their tricks.

Need space for a big gathering? The park's pavilion holds up to 300 people and comes equipped with a full kitchen. Within the grounds, you'll discover picnic areas nestled under shady trees - perfect spots for family lunches or quiet afternoons with a book.

More to Explore

On hot days, the swimming pool offers welcome relief. It's spacious, well-maintained, and staffed by friendly faces. You'll come across clean bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms near the pool, but facilities elsewhere in the park might be more limited.

The wide, illuminated sidewalks that wind through portions of the park make for pleasant evening strolls. They're great for walking dogs (on leash, please), bike rides, or just stretching your legs. If you're an early riser, the park rewards with some genuinely beautiful sunrise views.

Looking Forward

Thanks to voter approval in the November 2022 bond election, Bachmann Park is currently getting some well-deserved TLC. Renovations include upgrades to concession stands and restrooms, plus improvements to dugouts and bleachers. All these changes aim to make game days more comfortable for both players and their faithful supporters on the sidelines.
