About the Location
Where the Waves Meet You
Nestled along the Texas coastline, Padre Balli Park spans 374.5 acres on North Padre Island in Corpus Christi. This county park features over a mile of Gulf of Mexico beachfront that's accessible year-round. No seasonal closures here - just sand, surf, and sky whenever you need it.
You can find the park comfortably situated between Mile Markers 224 and 235 along the Padre Island National Seashore. The beaches are regularly maintained up to around Mile Marker 235, but if adventure calls you further, you might want to bring a four-wheel drive vehicle - the untamed sand beyond can be challenging for standard cars.
Rest Your Head by the Ocean
Planning to stay awhile? The park offers nearly 100 paved RV campsites with water and electrical hookups for comfortable extended stays. More of a tent camper? There are 12 hardtop tent camping areas also equipped with water and electricity - a nice upgrade from your typical primitive camping experience.
After a day of salt and sand, you can rinse off at the bathhouse with showers provided for campers. If you're seeking that authentic beach camping experience, you can set up camp directly on the beach south of Access Road 6 near Mile Marker 235. There's something magical about falling asleep to the sound of waves just steps from your tent.
Sun, Fun, and Fishing
Day-trippers have plenty to enjoy too. The beach is ideal for swimming, building sandcastles, or simply lounging with a good book. For fishing enthusiasts, Padre Balli Park connects to Bob Hall Pier, an impressive 1,240-foot structure extending into the Gulf where you can cast a line and try your luck.
Convenient parking areas are located near beach access points, so you won't have to haul your coolers and beach gear too far. When hunger strikes, take advantage of the picnic facilities, including some covered picnic tables right on the beach - a welcome respite from the midday sun.
Your Door to Island Exploration
Padre Balli Park connects to miles of undeveloped beach stretching southward. It offers essential amenities while still maintaining the natural coastal environment of the area.
Its location on North Padre Island makes it an ideal base camp for exploring the wider area. Whether you're visiting for a day trip or staying for a week, you'll find a typical Texas Gulf Coast experience with amenities that add convenience to your beach visit.
