About Lindsley Park in Dallas
Lindsley Park is an 8-acre neighborhood park located in Dallas, Texas. Established in 1947, this charming green space is nestled on the north side of the Hollywood/Santa Monica neighborhood, adjacent to the Santa Fe Hike and Bike Trail.
The park has undergone significant improvements over the years. In 1994, the Hollywood/Santa Monica Neighborhood Association initiated the Lindsley Park Capital Improvements Campaign, which led to the installation of new playground equipment, construction of a pavilion, and various landscaping enhancements. More recently, in October 2021, a second phase of improvements was completed, introducing all-age accessible playground equipment, new benches, improved drainage, ramps, and park perimeter lighting.
Lindsley Park offers a tranquil setting for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat from urban life. Its winding trail, lush greenery, and ample open spaces provide visitors with opportunities for various outdoor activities. The park is open daily from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, allowing ample time for community members to enjoy its facilities.
In 1998, the park received a new pavilion designed by Brown Reynolds Watford Architects. This structure was thoughtfully created to incorporate forms, details, and materials prevalent in the surrounding neighborhood, which consists of 1920s brick and stone-veneered Tudor cottages.
Lindsley Park serves as a focal point for community gatherings and recreational activities. Its diverse amenities cater to a wide range of interests, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
