About the Location
A Piece of Fort Worth History
Found in the charming Samuels Avenue neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas, Arnold Park is a cozy urban retreat with roots stretching back to 1914. Named after Major Ripley Arnold, the visionary who founded Fort Worth, this small park carries big historical significance.
Before becoming the green space we know today, this land was home to twelve houses. When the transition to parkland happened, the city added some classic recreational features including a tennis court and croquet grounds - because apparently even our ancestors knew the importance of a good outdoor game!
Location and Neighborhood Value
You'll discover Arnold Park nestled close to Pioneers Rest Cemetery, the very place where Major Arnold was originally laid to rest. At just under an acre, this modest park provides a welcome breathing space for residents in the bustling Samuels Avenue area.
What makes this park special is its versatility - regardless of whether you're looking to break a sweat or simply enjoy a peaceful moment outdoors, there's something here for you.
Modern Updates
The park got a fresh lease on life in 2002 when renovations brought improvements to the playground and tennis court. These updates have made the space more welcoming and functional for visitors across generations.
Over the years, Arnold Park has continued to evolve with the community, undergoing various improvements to meet neighborhood needs.
