About the Location
A Slice of History
Found in Fort Worth, Texas, Jennings-May-St. Louis Park is a compact green retreat spanning just 0.85 acres. Established in 1999, this little oasis got its name from the three major streets that frame its neighborhood: Jennings Avenue, May Street, and St. Louis Avenue. The park wasn't just a random addition to the area - it actually emerged as part of Fort Worth's broader efforts to bring down crime rates and breathe new life into local neighborhoods.
From Vision to Reality
The creation of this pocket park came through the Model Block Program, with the Jennings-May-St. Louis Neighborhood Development Corporation securing two parcels of land. The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company pitched in too, donating a small additional tract to complete the space.
The park hasn't remained static over the years. Recent upgrades include a new playground with modern equipment that's kept in pristine condition - ideal for little ones looking to burn off some energy.
What You'll Find
One of the coolest things about this park - quite literally - is its position beneath a bridge. This unique setting creates natural shade across much of the area, making it a refreshing escape during those scorching Texas summers when playground equipment elsewhere might be too hot to touch.
If you're feeling adventurous, take the connecting trail that links up with the Victory Forest Community Center about half a mile away. It's a nice option if you want to extend your outdoor time or access additional facilities.
