Since 1951, this 2.75-acre green refuge has been quietly serving the Mistletoe Heights neighborhood and beyond. You'll find it at the corner of West Rosedale and Jerome Streets in Fort Worth, just a stone's throw from the medical district and the southern edge of downtown.

Newby Park is simple and functional. There's a playground with all the classics - swings, slides, and climbing structures that cater to kids of various ages. Just a heads-up: you might want to bring sunscreen since this area doesn't offer much shade.

Sports more your thing? The park features a well-kept half-size basketball court with a hoop and net that's actually maintained (a rarity in some parks!).
