Park Overview
Established in 1982, this public recreational space encompasses approximately 10.5 acres of land, primarily serving as a community playground and sports area.
The park lies within the Pawpaw, Weno Limestone, and Denton Clay geologic formations, featuring a diverse soil composition that includes Slidell soils, Speck series, and Branyon series.
Natural Features
Silver Sage Park is situated between two water bodies: a tributary of Big Fossil Creek to the west and Whites Branch to the east.
The park's landscape includes open fields suitable for various activities, as well as shaded areas with trees near the playground that provide comfortable picnic spots for visitors.
Renovations and Improvements
In 2005, as part of a 2004 bond package, the park received upgrades including new playground equipment.
Additional improvements were made in 2006, enhancing the park's facilities for community use.
