Next to the western shore of Lake Ray Hubbard in Garland, Texas, Windsurf Bay Park spreads across 42 peaceful acres just a mile south of Interstate 30. This local escape offers something increasingly rare - unobstructed lake views and direct shoreline access without the crowds of larger parks.

The heart of the park is its generous, sloping grassy area that gently descends to the water's edge. It's an ideal spot to throw down a blanket, breathe in the fresh air, and just... exist for a while. The sunsets over the water are particularly beautiful here.

Park Basics

Need a home base for your gathering? The park's medium-sized pavilion comes equipped with a grill and can comfortably host about 25 people. There are only about two picnic tables in this area, so if you're bringing a crowd, consider tossing some folding chairs in the car.

Kids can burn off energy at the small playground conveniently situated near parking. Nature calls? Portable restrooms are on-site and typically well-maintained.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the half-court basketball court or rally a team for a game at the sand volleyball court - just remember to bring your own balls, as equipment isn't provided.

Water & Recreation

True to its name, this park is a haven for windsurfing enthusiasts. When the south winds kick up, you'll also spot kiteboarding enthusiasts taking advantage of the conditions.

Feel like cooling off? Swimming is popular here, but water shoes are a smart idea to protect against occasional shoreline debris. Fishing has its dedicated fans too, with the nighttime hours drawing anglers looking for a peaceful catch.
