Hollabaugh Park

Features and Amenities

A large pavilion that seats up to 150 people is the standout feature at Hollabaugh Park, a 6.2-acre greenspace off West Walnut Street in Garland. That covered area provides shade for everything from family reunions to impromptu picnics and is a popular spot for social events of all kinds.

Kids can burn off energy at the playground area right beside the pavilion. While the equipment offers plenty of fun climbing and sliding options, just a heads-up: there's minimal shade coverage here. On those scorching Texas summer days, you might want to plan your visit for morning or evening hours.

Recreation Opportunities

Need to get your steps in? The park features a 0.4-mile concrete trail that loops through the grounds. This smooth pathway is perfect whether you're power-walking, going for a light jog, or taking a leisurely bike ride through the park's peaceful scenery.

The open grassy areas scattered throughout provide perfect spots to throw down a blanket, toss a frisbee, or simply lie back and cloud-watch. These spaces contribute to the park's calm, relaxed atmosphere.

Adjacent to the park is the Hollabaugh Recreation Center, which offers additional recreational options. Inside, you can find a well-maintained fitness room and versatile multipurpose rooms available for programs and rentals. The gym facilities are used regularly by locals, and the center is known for its affordable event spaces.

Park Design

Hollabaugh Park features a balance of natural green spaces and practical amenities. The layout creates an environment that feels both natural and accessible.

You won't need to circle around looking for somewhere to park, as there are plenty of parking spaces available. Worth noting: the park is currently evolving, with construction underway for a new, expanded library next to the existing facilities - a sign that this community space will only get better with time.
